I've been a bit quiet lately, missing my usual cadence for Flight Path. The past month have been bitter sweet with a whirlwind of emotions - the joy of new exciting projects mixed with the heartache of a stage four cancer diagnosis for my father in law.
On the business front it’s been all systems go with delivering projects for existing clients and kicking off new projects. Last week I was on site with leaders to kick off a coaching engagement with BHP for their Women in Leadership program and now preparing to deliver a series of workshops for Powerlink Queensland called Thrive Under Pressure for their project delivery leads with my colleague Rebecca Niebler.
Amidst the hustle, it's easy to keep pushing forward but just like a pressure cooker, we need to release the valve and find balance. It's about thriving, not just surviving.
For me, that balance comes from quality time in nature. A recent mini-retreat with my family was the perfect antidote, reminding me of the importance of slowing down and reconnecting. You can read my reflections in my blog post Finding balance and inspiration in nature.
